Sterilization Processes & Flows

Dental instruments are precision tools which require regular maintenance. All our equipments and instruments are maintained and sterilised according to international standards using CE certified sterilisation machines. Our clinical handpieces, dental units and other machines are selected not only for their technological advancements but also for their specific design focus on sterilization approaches.

heir specific design focus on sterilization approaches.

Our dental appliances are individually packed and sealed by our impulse autosealer machine then autoclaved by our pre-vacuumed autoclave units in viewpacks for each patient. Every pack of dental appliances are dated to uphold high standards of sterilisation.

BIDC's sterilization efforts goes further than sterilization standard requirements. At BIDC, single use non-woven materials are used to protect our sterilized dental instruments that are is more bacteria resistant than conventional woven wraps normally used at clinics and hospitals.

Extra steps are taken to ensure all our equipments are properly and fully sterilized. Our autoclave machines are tested daily for its effectiveness. Separate sterilization machines are kept for autoclaving instruments and clinical handpieces. Please see our sterilization machines and technologies for more details on our concentrated focus with regards to the area of sterilization. After instruments are autoclaved, instrument are re-checked, packed, dated and stored in a separate clean area

BIDC's organizes its steriization rooms in separated clean and dirty areas in preventing any potential cross-contamination of instruments. Sterilized clean instruments are kept under controlled cool temperatures and humidity 24 hours a day throughout the week in preventing the bacteria growth. Backup generators are in place should a power supply disturbance occur.

Dental Instruments & Equipments Cleaniness

Dental instruments at BIDC undergo several rounds of processing to ensure total safety and total sterilization has been met. Dental instruments are initially soak in rapid multi-enzyme detergent for pre-disinfectant cleaning. The enzymes digest all human secretions including blood, saliva, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and mucopolysaccharides that carries possible bacteria and viruses. Thereafter, the instruments are placed in ultrasonic machines to clean and remove tiny or invisible dirt trapped in instrument corners or spiral.

At every stage of our dental instrument sterilization process, indicators and measurement monitoring are done to double check and re-confirm that instruments are sterile and our sterilization machines are performing. At BIDC, mechanical measurements on our autoclaving machines are charted at every machine cycle. Temperature, light differentiates, pressure gauge readings are recorded during each pre and post vaccuum autoclaving period.

For the autoclaved dental instruments, sterile tape external indicators mark the individual packs that have undergone steam sterilization.

Additional, internal indicators using 3M Sterigage is also used to check that each parcel of critical dental instrument package has been exposed to steam at the correct temperature and time. The Steriage check is Class 5 level check, the highest level of examination, used to determine factors affecting treatment infection and death.

Biological Sterilization Indicator Verification System by 3M Attest

At BIDC, infection control and sterilizations is of top priority. Simply having pressure-steam machines or autoclaves does not garanteed total sterilization. At BIDC, our dental office use not just chemical but biological checks. The Attest Biological Rapid Monitoring System by 3M ESPE is used at BIDC to verify the effectiveness of our sterilization efforts daily.

The 3M Attest sterilization is a proven and reliable system with a 20 year product history using biological indicator system for monitoring steam sterilization. The Attest sterilizations system is used to ensure that BIDC"s sterilization controls and standards are well assured and above those of required standards.

Has a self-contained biological indicators significantly reduce the possibility of contamination, minimizing false positives and ensuring more accurate results.

Incubator automatically crushes vial to release medium, making it safer and easier to use than other systems.

14-vial capacity to meet the needs of both small and large offices.

See-through cover allows for easy observation and reading of indicator color change.

Dry-block design is pre-set to proper incubation temperature to ensure consistent, accurate results.

System is color-coded for quick reference and easy use.

Readout is available in just 3 hours, providing faster results than typical mail-in services or any conventional one day readout system

Dental Treatment Rooms Cleanliness

Dental units at BIDC are cleaned and disinfected after every single use with patient. Single-use disposable towels that contains high level disfectants are used with our dental units during cleaning.

The pre-selected high level disfectant used at BIDC is tested and clinically certifed to be effective against bacteria and staphylooccus aureus.
